A sleek medical device labeled "Vectus," featuring an embedded touchscreen display and multiple attachments, perfect for enhancing treatments at any beauty spa in Madison, WI. The gray and white exterior complements its top-surface controls and ports.

Vectus uses powerful laser energy to destroy hair follicles below the surface of the skin.

Unlike traditional methods that remove hair at the skin’s surface, the Vectus uses powerful laser energy to destroy hair follicles below the surface of the skin. What sets the Vectus™ Laser apart is, primarily, the highest efficiency, shorter duration of treatments and safety. To prevent hair from growing back, several sessions will be needed to treat all of the hair follicles. It can remove unwanted hair from the face, arms, back, underarms, legs, chest, and the bikini area, without harming your skin. Laser hair removal is safe for most skin types.

The Vectus is equipped with a Sapphire cooling tip, which means that the skin is cooled down at every stage of the treatment: before, during and after the emission of light. This allows to apply higher energy doses during the treatment and therefore significantly increase its effectiveness.

After about two weeks, the hair begins to gradually fall out. Dark and thick hair is easiest and quickest to get rid of. However, the Cynosure Vectus laser also works great with fair and red hair. Studies indicate a 95% effectiveness at removing unwanted body hair. To achieve the best results, it is recommended to perform 4 to 6 treatments per area. Due to the process of hair growth, it is best to perform treatments in the following time intervals:

• 4-6 weeks – armpits, bikini, forearms, face, hands;

• 8-10 weeks – legs, back, buttocks.

A close-up of a person performing a laser hair removal treatment at a beauty spa in Madison, WI. The practitioner, wearing white gloves, operates a Vectus laser device while the patient has a purple towel draped over them.

Before the treatment, the device is applied in a place to be depilated and performs at least three measurements of the level of active melanin. Based on this reading, it sets the most favorable laser parameters for a given individual. In practice, this means that thanks to the individual choice of energy, we can use higher parameters that are still safe for the patient. The result is that the increased effectiveness of the treatment. The Vectus has a large laser spot size, meaning that even sizable areas like the chest and back can be treated quickly. The duration of the procedure depends mainly on the size of the depilated surface. For example: armpit hair removal lasts about 15 minutes, Brazilian bikini takes 30 minutes, while leg hair removal is a time investment of more than 60 minutes. Patients are able to return to their normal routines immediately following laser hair removal without experiencing any downtime. Best of all, you won’t endure painful razor burn or cut yourself shaving with a razor anymore.

With this treatment, the results are real: You’ll see and feel the change Because your experience is customized for your body, the transformation is clear

Q. What areas can Vectus hair removal treat?

A. Vectus can remove hair from almost anywhere on the body including faces, backs, chests, arms, underarms, bikini area, and legs.

Q. How does it work?

A. Vectus emits powerful light energy that targets and heats hair follicles. After the treatment, the follicles are damaged and permanently unable to produce new hairs, or can produce only very thin, tiny hairs that are virtually invisible.

Q. Why do I have to wear the eyewear supplied by Cynosure, aren’t my glasses enough?

A. Cynosure provides laser safety eyewear that is specific to the wavelengths of light that your device emits. The light emitted from a laser or pulsed light device can cause eye injury or even blindness. Everyone present in the treatment room must wear appropriate protective eyewear at all times when the laser is in use. Be sure the laser eyewear that you are using is the correct one; you can find the laser specifications of the eyewear printed on the lens or frame.

Q. How to prepare for the first treatment?

A. One day before the treatment, the body area to be depilated should be shaved using a disposable razor or depilatory cream. Do NOT use tweezers or wax. It is important that the hair bulb is firmly placed on the wart. There is no need to let your hair grow before the procedure; it is actually not recommended. Within two weeks of a scheduled laser hair removal treatment, you should not sunbathe. If taking dietary supplements, check they do not contain herbs such as St. John’s wort, field horsetail or nettle, which can cause allergy to light.
